During the time before The Fade Japhrius’ Eye was a small outpost, a way station between the Human ( Kingdom of the Plains) and the Dwarven ( Hammer Rock) dominions. Controlled by the Humans this was a symbol of the the great alliance between the Humans and the Dwarves.
Named after Japhrius The Sunhand the great hero of the humans. Rumours abound about this watchtower; it has been said that Japhrius himself laid the first stone and in doing so blessed the land forever in the name of Pelor. It is also said in another legend that is was from this place that he directed his army against the orc invasion that he was so well known to drive back. This was a place that many would flee to in times of need and a regular stream of pilgrims woudl come to gain Pelor’s blessing. These two rumours in particular probably explained why it was a place that many refugees flocked to.
Since the beginning of the Fade Crusade the outpost has grown from a small outpost to a thriving village with more joining their numbers every day. As it is quite high into the mountains it has not yet been covered by the Phage. Resources were scarce but everyone shared what they could. On the arrival of Jayleed Kreth to the village more order was established and a council of elders was created to see in much the same as any large settlement in The Kingdom would have been organised. At this time careful checking was necessary to make sure that none infected by the Phage entered the town. This and the frequent attacks by creatures (intelligent or otherwise) lead to all able bodied men being draughted into a militia. With this more central control and a fighting force in place a semblance of peace was brought to this small region of a world that was falling into darkness. The arrival of the chosen changed this entirely. Many at the time claimed that they were harbingers of doom proven by there involvement in the destruction of Japhrius’ Eye. It was in fact one of the last places to hold out against the Phage which eventually did spread it’s way to this place too. Many rumours abound about what happened on that last fateful day, but in the end in a single day the whole town and all it’s inhabitants were consumed by the Phage. Out of this tragedy rose a force which would eventually fight back against the darkness, champions of nature the Chosen of the White Stag…
Points Of Interest:
- The Eye:
The original watchtower known as The Eye stands at the middle of the town. The tower is made of a granite like rock which was roughly hewn. This is still the case today except for one corner that has been worn down. This is the legendary cornerstone that Japherius himself laid and has a small shrine to Pelor next to it. Also there is commonly seen gifts and submissions to Pelor laid at the base of it. The tower itself is still in use being the headquarters for the militia.

- The Longhouse:
This is the main meeting hall where the Elders sit and deliberate issues that come up or bring judgement on those who have transgressed. This is whether the shared meals are held for all the townsfolk. Everything is shared in this town as it is so scarce.
- The Pens:
